PHOTC PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS DECEMBER 2025 SERIES

The Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC) today officially commenced its Professional Examinations, marking a significant milestone in the Council’s mandate to regulate, train, and uphold standards for public health practice across the country.

Under the leadership of the Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Anthony Wainaina, and supported by the PHOTC Secretariat, the Council demonstrated strong institutional preparedness by deploying a high-level team of invigilators and key stakeholders to engage candidates ahead of the examinations. During candidate rehearsals, PHOTC provided clear guidance, reassurance, and oversight, underscoring its commitment to delivering a credible, fair, and well-coordinated assessment process.

The PHOTC-led team brought together strategic partners and sector leaders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health (MOH) — Head of the Port Health Division and Head of the Waste Management Unit — alongside professional association leaders such as, Secretary General of APHOK, the Secretary General of KEHPHU (Nairobi Branch). Also present were key Council and academic representatives, including the Chair of PHOTC’s Training and Accreditation Committee, Head of Public Health Department, Technical University of Kenya, among others.

Throughout the engagement, PHOTC officials emphasized the Council’s unwavering commitment to examination integrity, professionalism, and adherence to established guidelines. Candidates were reminded that discipline and ethical conduct are core values upheld by the Council in safeguarding the credibility of the profession.

In his address, Ag. CEO Mr. Anthony Wainaina delivered an inspiring message, reaffirming PHOTC’s role as the custodian of public health standards in Kenya. He highlighted the critical responsibility public health professionals bear in protecting communities and advancing national well-being, urging candidates to approach the examinations with integrity, honesty, and a strong sense of duty.

Candidates were encouraged to remain calm, focused, and confident, assured that PHOTC has instituted robust measures to protect examination integrity, secure candidates’ futures, and eliminate any form of interference or malpractice.

As the examinations get underway, PHOTC commends all candidates for reaching this important professional milestone and calls upon them to uphold the values of discipline, professionalism, and service excellence that define the public health profession.
